Dewey Thomas Tooter' Hatley, age 46, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born on April 28, 1968 to Dewey and Helen Ward Hatley of Butler, Tennessee. Dewey was a graduate of Hampton High School. He loved Nascar racing and college and professional sports. Dewey worked in construction for many years. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Dewey and Helen Hatley, he is survived by a daughter, Kendra Hatley; a son, Brandon Hatley; aunts: Lena Ward and Reba Presnell; uncle, Tom Ward and wife Mary; former mother-in-law and special friend, Brenda Smith; special ladythat he dearly loved, Betty Stewart; and several cousins. Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Mr. Quincy Norris to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Saint John's Cemetery, Valley Crucis, NC. Pallbearers are Charlie Deloach, who was one of Dewey's best friends, Chris Deloach, Leon Guy and Ethan Ward. Honorary pallbearer is Donna Davis.
