Robert Earl Crowder, age 75, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born on October 20, 1938 to the late Manley and Ella Warren Crowder. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by nine sisters and ten brothers: Bertha May Crowder, Tina Opal Crowder, Edna Viola Crowder, Beulah Vada Crowder, Edith Pauleen Crowder, Pauleen Crowder Greear, Trilla Crowder Norris, Mamie Crowder Adams, Dorothy Crowder Pardue, Clyde Crowder, Clarence Crowder, Otis Crowder, Orville Crowder, Wayne Crowder, Ernest Ray Crowder, Harold G. Crowder, Kermit Crowder, Delmer Crowder and Jimmy Dale Crowder. Earl loved and sang Bluegrass Gospel Music for over 65 years and was a member of Rainbow Mountain Boys Bluegrass Band. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he loved to spoil. Earl was a member of Rainbow Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Earlene Pardue Crowder; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Johnny Norris; sons and daughters-in-law: Edward and Debbie Crowder and Darrel and Pam Crowder; four grandchildren: Mollie Crowder, Laura Crowder, Zack Norris and Brycen Norris; sisters-in-law: Linda Crowder, Rochelle Crowder, Betty Crowder and Betty Crowder Johnson; several nieces and nephews; his music friends and many more. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Frank Johnson and Raymond Tester officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Rainbow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Dunn, Keith Wilson, Zack Norris, Brycen Norris, Johnny Norris and John Lowe.
