Sherry Grubb, age 58, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her residence. She was born on April 7, 1956 to the late Shelbourne and Roberta Howard. In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Poore and a brother, Patrick Howard. Sherry was a 1973 graduate of Middlesboro Kentucky High School. She received her Nursing Degree from Pineville School of Nursing. Sherry worked for a few years in nursing and decided to stay home to raise her children. She loved crafts and especially enjoyed cross stitch, quilting and ceramics. Sherry also enjoyed reading. She was a member of Nelsons Chapel Baptist Church. Sherry is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard Grubb; daughters and sons-in-law: Brandi Grubb and Michael Maison of Milwaukee, WI, Bethany and James Smith and Brittany Pennington, all of Mountain City, TN; brothers: Michael Howard and wife Sally of Shepherdsville, KY and Wayne Howard of Middlesboro, KY; grandchildren: Jordan Grubb and Alex Pennington, both of Mountain City, TN; brother-in-law, Donnie Poore of Middlesboro, KY; brother-in-law and special sister-in-law, Tillman Grubb and Debbie Grubb, of Gibson Station, VA; special friend, Lisa Ramsey, who Sherry called Sis'; several nieces and nephews and many more special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Nelson Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Mike McNutt to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Special music will be provided by the Nelson Chapel Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Service and Entombment will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens of Middlesboro, Kentucky with Mr. William Boyd Bingham III to officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Members of Nelson Chapel Baptist Church and Richard's co-workers at Mountain Electric Cooperative. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sherry's memory to Gideons International, PO Box 155, Mountain City, TN 37683. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 194 Graybeal Avenue, Mountain City, TN Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
