Don William Matheson

Don Matheson, age 41, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was born on August 29, 1972 to Ralph and Mae Holloway Matheson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Little Roy Matheson; grandparents: Dock and Irene Matheson and Roy and Ola Toad' Holloway and a special cousin, Jenny Thomas. Don was a graduate of Johnson County High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed anything outdoors. Don especially enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Ralph and Mae Matheson, Don is survived by many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Hammer. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Gale Hartley to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul DeCoste, Robert Matheson, Allan Kyte, Harold Phillippi, Roby Phillippi, Danny Buchanan and Dick Johnson. No Graveside Service will be held as it was Don's wishes to be cremated following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
