Corey Daniel Johnson

Corey Daniel Johnson, age 23, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 4, 2014. He was born on March 19, 1991 to Johnny Potter and Lara Jenkins Johnson. Corey was a former employee of N&N Ball & Roller. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Corey also enjoyed playing the guitar. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always joking around with his grandparents. In addition to his parents, Corey is survived by his grandparents: Joe and June Lewis, Larry Jenkins and Mary Alice Potter; son, Conner Kimball; sister, Ashley Johnson; brother, Adam Johnson; cousin, who was like a brother, Christopher Cannet, who is currently serving in the United States Army and stationed in Afghanistan; cousin, whom Corey was very close with, Courtney Davis; several more special cousins; special Aunt, Lori Wilson; special friends: Joe Potter, David Campbell and Travis Ellison and many more special friends. Funeral Services for Corey will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Hankel to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be T.J. Patterson, Joe Potter, David Campbell, Josh Widener, Travis Ellison and Johnny Potter. Family, pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble by 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at the cemetery for graveside services. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Joe and June Lewis, 372 Jackson Lane, Mountain City, TN.
