Elmer Ray Jenkins

Elmer Ray Jenkins, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN. Ray was born on September 3, 1926 to the late Thomas Jenkins and Betsy Fenner Jenkins. In addition to h1s parents, Ray was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in WWII. Ray is survived by a special nephew and wife, Dick and Monica Jenkins who have taken care of Ray in recent years. He is also survived by a niece, Joy Wilson, special friend, Jean Hines, and great nieces and nephews Kelly Cowan, Oscar Hernandez, Eric Hernandez, and Chris Hernandez. The family would like to say a special thanks to close friends Raymond Cress, Boyd Wilson, James Winters, and Earl Greer. It was Rays wish to be cremated and no service will be held. The family will receive friends at the home of his nephew Dick Jenkins, 979 Berry Branch Rd., Mountain City, TN 37683.
