Dorothy Lee (Lundy) Tullidge

Dorothy Lee (Lundy) Tullidge, beloved wife and mother, was called home to be with the Lord at 11:46 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Capstone Village Retirement Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was born at her home on August 12, 1929 to her parents, Isaac and Mary Lundy. After graduation from Montreat Anderson College, she went to work for the Southern Presbyterian U.S. Church Mission Board. In September 1953 she met Archer Tullidge, and they were married the following year on June 5th in Hopewell, Virginia. The couple enjoyed 59 long years together. Mrs. Tullidge was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Archer K. Tullidge and her fourth son, Steven Timberlake Tullidge with surviving wife, Angie, and children Marie and Steven. She was also preceded by two sisters, Ruby Jean, wife of Tommy Thomas, and Margaret, wife of Richard Wilson, and her brother James Isaac Lundy, husband of Jeanette (Horton) Lundy. She is survived by four sons: Dr. Archer Kilbourne Tullidge, Jr. of Tomball, Texas, and children, Dolly, Archer, and Hailey; George Bowler Tullidge, IV of Palm City, Florida, husband of Ginny (Brubaker) Tullidge, and children, George, Robert, Sarah, and Daniel; Lee Harrison Tullidge of Urbana, Ohio, husband of Janet (Emmerling) Tullidge, and daughters, Jessica and Aubree; James Lundy Tullidge of North Port, Alabama, husband of Jennifer (Landers) Tullidge, and children, Jessica, James, and Jeremiah; two sisters: Charlene, wife of Frank Potter, Jr. of Bluff City, Tennessee, and Betty Anne, wife of Donald Richard Tshudy of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Tullidge is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Tullidge was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church of America in Stuart, Florida and has attended the Capstone Village Church at The Capstone Village Retirement Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Michael Icenhour to officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ligonier Ministries, 421 Ligonier Court, Sanford, FL 32771. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.
