Ruby Gilbert

Ruby Francis Gilbert, age 73, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1941 to the late Robert Egar Fenner and Mattie Elizabeth Richardson Fenner. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by sisters: Jackie Lowe and Betty Pardue and brother, Jerry Fenner. Ruby was a very thoughtful, caring, loving, good hearted person who loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, who she loved spoiling. Ruby enjoyed crocheting, gardening and family gatherings. Ruby was a member of Berea Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Daryl Gilbert; daughters: Tammy McElyea and husband Danny and Jackie Johnson; sister, Rebecca Caroway and husband Bobby; brother, David Fenner; grandchildren: Angela Carico, Christopher McElyea, Johnny Johnson, Scotty Johnson and Jason Johnson; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Shannon Courtner to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ernest Tester, Chris McElyea, Johnny Johnson, Danny McElyea, Dean Mink and Jeff Fenner. Honorary pallbearer is Bobby Arnold.
