Paul Lewis Miller, age 73, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday November 26, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Beech Mountain, Avery County, NC on November 26, 1941 to the late William McKinley Miller and Nina Cook Miller. Paul was a United States Army Veteran. He drove for Greyhound Bus lines for several years and was a truck driver for many years. Paul in years past was known to be a fisherman. He was also known for watching western's. Paul enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his good friends at the Moose lodge in Elizabethton, TN. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Gail Miller of Butler; sisters, Mary Gray and Maude Mitchell; brother, Mack Miller and wife Shirley; grandchildren, Nichole Miller and special granddaughter Abby Miller, special nephew William Gray and several other nieces and nephews and Paul's special friends Billy and Lorie Lambert. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Mike Bowers to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors accorded by Johnson County Honor Guard will follow from the Cook Cemetery, Beech Mountain, NC. Active Pallbearers will be Brad Sutherland, Shane Woodard, Gary Woodard, Jeff Carden, Patrick Sutherland, Billy Lambert, Timmy Lambert and Lance Dugger. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Patrick MacMillan, Greg Hurley, Marshall Estep,William Gray, Mark Gray and Ronnie Woodard. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. MacMillan and to all the staff of Amedisys Hospice for all the good care they gave Paul.
