Jathon Ryan Dowell

Jathon Ryan Dowell, age 32, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on January 15, 1982 to Patricia Mitchell and Bob and Wilma Norris Dowell. Jathon was a country boy' who loved true country living, working in the garden and being outside enjoying nature. He was musically gifted and could play several instruments. Jathon had spent some time in New York, which he really enjoyed. Jathon is survived by his parents, Bob and Wilma Dowell and Patricia Mitchell; fiancé, Tonya Thomas; daughters, who were Jathon's life; Skye Ryi-ann Dowell and Serena Raine Dowell; sisters: Sabrina Dowell, Nancy Mabe, Christina Snyder, Dawn Arnold; brothers: Bobby Dowell Jr., Thurman Dowell, Thomas J. Church and Johnny Church; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roy Dowell officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Brown Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be B.J. Dowell, Eric Edwards, Chris Greene, Brian Snyder, T.J. Church and Johnny Church Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Mitchell and Randy Dean Thomas. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 450 Snyder Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
