John Lyman Grimes

John Lyman Grimes, age 71, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 30,2 014 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 26, 1943 to the late Paul Leslie Grimes and June Esther Miller Grimes. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia March. John loved to travel and had lived in England and Germany for 10 years. He also had a passion for wood carving. Some of John's favorite hobbies included sking, playing tennis and camping. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. John is survived by his wife, Patricia Wyscarver Grimes; daughter and son-in-law, Shawn Marie Leonard and Brian Leonard; grandchildren: Kala Marie Leonard and Kyle Lyman Leonard and many friends. A memorial service will be held at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 with Father Dennis Cress officiating. Military Honors will follow and will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard. For those who wish, memorials in John's memory may be made to the St. Anthony Bread, 833 W. Main Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
