James Edward"Jimmy" Huggins

James Edward "Jimmy" Huggins, age 72, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 11 2015 at his residence. Jimmy was born on November 14, 1942 in Johnson County, TN to the late James Clarence Huggins and Gladys Ruth Jenkins Parris. He was a 1962 graduate of Johnson County High School. Jimmy had lived In Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, North Carolina and came back home to Mountain City in 2006. He loved to fish, do woodworking, gardening and to play music and sing. Jimmy retired from General Motors. He was a life member of the VFW. Jimmy was a United States Navy veteran and had served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA 42 from 1963 to 1967. He attended Church at Faith Gospel in Laurel Bloomery, TN. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 33 years Laura Grinstead Huggins, daughters: Laurie Ann Conrad and husband Jeffrey and Abigail Lea Beale and husband Jerry, sons: James Lincoln Huggins and Joseph Edward Huggins and wife Terri, half-sisters: Linda Roberts and Clara Wilson, half-brother: Eddie Parris, twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Mountain City Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Billy Morefield officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow the funeral service on Tuesday from the Johnson Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Mike Grinstead, Joseph Huggins, James Huggins, Jeff Conrad, Jeffrey Conrad and Jerry Beale. Honorary pallbearers are Odell Johnson, Phillip Gentry, Bob Grindstaff, Bob Hope, Glenn Holman and Clay Cochrane. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home 1736 Deer Run Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com
