Millard Hugh Parker, age 92, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Watauga Medical Center. He was born on June 29, 1922 to the late Millard F. and Ada Farmer Parker. In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Stewart Parker; sister, Danford Barrett, and brothers: Joe, Lester, Tom, Russell and Ben Parker. Hugh lived in Fairfield and Hamilton, Ohio for 39 years. He retired from Mosler Safe Company following 34 years of service. Hugh was a member of the Johnson County Amateur Radio Club. His HAM radio operator call sign was WB8RQS. Hugh enjoyed being outdoors and another favorite hobby of his, was fishing. Hugh was a member of East River Road Baptist Church of Ohio. He is survived by his sisters: Ella May Lewis and Nina Faye Huss; brother: Edgar Parker; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Stout to officiate. Special music will be provided by Ricky Campbell. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Stewart, Teddy Lewis, Wayne Stewart, Walter Stewart, Darrell Stewart and Neil Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Herman and the Johnson County HAM Radio Club. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the funeral, at the funeral home chapel.
