Paul Jones

Paul Jones, age 70, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on July 17, 1944 to Pearl Dunn Jones and the late Elmer Jones.In addition to his father, Paul was preceded in death by his very good friend, Jim Oliver. Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time outside hunting ginseng, looking for arrowheads, and coon hunting. Paul also enjoyed raising a garden and loved sharing his crops with his neighbors. He liked to visit his family and friends and was always there to help. In addition to his mother, Pearl Jones, Paul is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Jones; sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Pamela Jones and Danny and Malena Jones; sister, Betty Rutherford, brother, Ray Jones and Debbie; grandchildren: Andrew Jones, Matthew Jones, Haley Thomas, Travis Jones and Chloe Jones; Paul's cat that he loved, Reb; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors J.B. Hamm officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Dunn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew Jones, Travis Jones, Andrew Jones, Billy Ray Jones, Jeff Cornett and Zach Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Hammons, Gene Brown, John Payne, Jess Eller, Bob Jones, Bruce Tedder and Norman Greer. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Paul's memory may be made to the Dunn Memorial Cemetery Fund, c/o Walter B. Simcox, 4283 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN37683.
