James 'Jimmy' Edward Harmon

James Jimmy' Edward Harmon, age 59, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 05, 2015 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born on November 26, 1955 to the late Roger and Romenia Cannon Harmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Louise Anderson and Rose Carter and his best friend, Ferdinand, his dog. Jimmy loved life and was always joking around with people and making the most of each day. He especially enjoyed spending time and spoiling his children and grandchildren. Jimmy had attended Dyson Grove Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Veteran having honorably served in the United States Army. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dianne Harmon; daughters: Callie Harmon, Jennifer White and Jamie Harmon; sons: Malaki Canter and Christopher Stanbery and wife Renee; sisters: Anita Gomez, husband Hector Gomez and Faye Pope; grandchildren: Kirstin Stanbery, Dalton Stanbery, Merical McCoy, Gabriel Canter, Danny Harmon, Asanti White and Brooklyn White ; niece, Melissa Melitos; nephews: Hector Gomez Jr., Ronnie Edwards, Eddie Pope, and Teddy Pope; and many special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Leonard Fletcher to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard, will follow at the Harmon Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Stanbery, Travis Grindstaff, Malaki Canter, John Burleson, Colt Greer, Dalton Stanbery and Tracy Arnold. Honorary pallbearers are special friends: Mark Triplett, Marty Greenwell, Perry Perkins, Scotty Tester and Cory Brown. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 551 Hillside Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com .
