Robert G. 'Bob' Knight, Sr

Robert G. Knight Sr., known as Bob Knight, age 66, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Johnson County Community Hospital. He was born on June 17, 1948 to the late Watson and Emma Mae Nichols Knight Sr. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Watson Knight Sr. Bob was a United States Marine Veteran. He enjoyed going out to get a cup of coffee. In his younger days, Bob enjoyed his leisure time by going to the lake and spending as much time as he could outside. He is survived by his wife, Esther Knight; son, Robert George Knight Jr.; sister, Catherine Knight Ray; brother, Walter Knight Sr.; grandchildren: Blaize Marie Knight, Iris Paige Knight, and Neyland Matthew Lunceford; great granddaughter, Victoria Marie Knight; special friends: Alice Rhymer, Butch Fritts and Johnny Norris and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gregory Allen Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Due to weather conditions the Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Johnny Norris, Tim Smith, Jimmy Osborne, Dewey Hood, Darrell Dugger and Jason Feltner, Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Wilson and David Wilson.
