Alease Lois Horne

Alease Lois Horne, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2015 surrounded by her children. She was welcomed home by her husband of 49 years, Herbert Horne; her children, infant twin daughters and son, Bud Horne. Also there to greet her were her parents, Ed and Pansy Pope; a sister, Irene Woody; brothers: Russ Pope, Thurm Pope, June Pope and Whitey Pope. She was born on December 3, 1933 in Ashe County, NC. Being a homemaker and mother brought her great joy. She worked for several years at Burlington Industries and later retired from Levi Strauss & Co. Mrs. Horne was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Her home was filled with love and she was always ready to share a good laugh. She was a Godly example and great friend to her children: Charles Horne (Betty), Susan Hicks, Tom Horne (a special son who was her primary caregiver for many months), Jane Miller (Larry), Dorothy Matheson (Terry); Her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who knew her as Mom Horne or Mamaw, were her greatest joy: Grandchildren - Chastity Trivette, Bronson Pardue, Heather Watson, Bronson Miller, Derek Miller, Misty Hicks; great grandchildren: Caleb and Hannah Trivette, Kindal Watson, Isabella and Emmy Miller, Aiden Hicks and Mason Berryhill. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Volerie Wilkerson, Wilmer Pope, Hazel Lewis, Delmar Pope, Shirley Rash; sisters-in-law: Joan Pope and Vedie Pope, along with many nieces, nephews and special friends. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Ricky Campbell officiating. Pallbearers will be: Terry Matheson, Larry Miller, Derek Miller, Eric Trivette, Bronson Miller and Doug Norris. Honorary pallbearers are: Wilmer Pope, Delmar Pope and members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad. Per Mrs. Horne's request, a private viewing will be held prior to the graveside. Friends may call or visit the residence at 124 Rine Street Mountain City, TN. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made in her honor to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
