William Leroy Smith

William Leroy Smith, age 60, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on March 5, 2015 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was born in Gulfport, MS on December 9, 1954 to the late Frank and Susie Bowman Smith. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his daughter, April Turner; sister, Earlene Boyd; brothers: Monroe Chamblee, John Chamblee and Robert Chamblee. William was a United States Army Veteran. He worked many years on off shore oil rigs. William enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He cooked the best red beans and rice and had a love for seafood that he shared with Chasity and Billy. William is survived by his children: Chasity Cole, Susan Robinson and Billy Smith; sister, Louise Carter; brothers: Virgil Chamblee and Richard Smith; grandchildren: Cynthia Robinson, Sydney Robinson, Brittany Robinson, Destiny Turner, Mika Turner, Michael Turner, Trent Buck, Courtney Buck, William Smith III, Christian Smith, Savanna Smith and Timothy Chiasson; great grandchild, Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews, and many more special friends and neighbors. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 304 East Cottage Avenue, Elizabethton, TN.
