Karen Marie Ward Karen Marie Ward, age 49, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on March 30, 1965 to the late Claude and Lucille Dickens Ward. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by one son: Devin Morefield; two sisters: Wanda Miller and Annie Bunton; and three brothers: Walt Ward, Gary Ward, and Jerry Morefield. Karen loved Photography. She also loved animals and had a special place in her heart for her Dog Bear. She enjoyed walking and spending time with him. Karen was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Karen is survived by her boyfriend and love of her life, Raymond Mahala of Erwin, TN; sisters: Dolly Stickney of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Betty Phipps of Mountain City; brothers, Tony Eller of Ashland, OH, Roy Ward of Mountain City and John Ward of Franklin, NC; Karen was a Godmother to Joey Ward and Travis Ward. She had numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Kim and Roger Isaacs. Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Bowman to officiate , music will be provided by Megan Pardue. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. It was Karen's wish to be cremated.
