Dave Gwinn

Dave Gwinn, age 74, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Watauga Medical Center. He was born on May 13, 1940, in Johnson County, TN to the late Charles and Ethel Morefield Guinn. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Wade Gwinn and brother-in-law, Joe Baird. Dave was known by being a Truck Driver for many years and had owned his own trucks during this time as well as driving for others. He enjoyed farming and growing his garden. He never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family. Dave enjoyed and loved his best friend and pal Muffin his dog. He was a member of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 41years: Judy Warren Gwinn, children; Keith Gwinn and wife Freida, Carroll Chappell and wife Kelly, Davey Gwinn, Donnie Gwinn and Cookie Edwards, sisters and brothers: Mae Talley, Melissa McCullah, Jean Baird, Geneva Eggers and husband Bob, Lynn Gagliardi and husband AL, Wayne Guinn, Jack Guinn and Mark Guinn; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins and many special friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. , with Pastor Shannon Courtner to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Rainbow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Philip Dugger, Jody Bumgardner, Chris Atwood, Bill Church, Johnathan Mink and Larry Mink. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Warren, Bob Eggers, Terry Baird and Dave Bumgardner.
