Jess Eller

Jess Eller, age 75, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on October 13, 1939 to the late Robert Joseph and Lethia Watson Eller. In addition to his parents, Jess was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie White And brother, Norman Eller. He was a 1960 Graduate of Johnson County High School. Jess was a mastered stone mason and took much pride in his workmanship. He also enjoyed cooking and working in his yard. Jess was an avid football fan and especially enjoyed watching Tennessee play. His pride and joy was his grandchildren, whom he adored. Jess was a United States Army Veteran. He attended Hammons Chapel Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 34 wonderful years, Betty Eller; beloved son, Eric Hammons; very beloved sister, Mary Branson; special sister-in-law, Cora Mae Stout; love of his life, his grandchildren: Evan Hammons and Ava Hammons; nieces: Beth Trotter, Angie White; nephews: Kevin Branson, Kenny Eller, Troy Eller, Jason Eller and Billy White; special caregiver, Gail Miller and Nurse Angie and many special friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Joshua Giddings, Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Dunn Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benny Brooks, Pete Brooks, David Snyder, Terry Thompson, Walter Simcox, Doug Payne, Spencer Payne and Larry Nichols. Honorary pallbearers are Coach Harold Arnold, John I. Payne, Wallace Lewis, Jim Head and Mike Shupe. Family, pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble by 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jess' memory to the Dunn Memorial Park Cemetery, c/o Walter Burl Simcox, 4283 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 125 Betty Hammon Lane, Mountain City, TN.
