Paul Anderson, age 66, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015. He was born August 9, 1948 to the late Norman Ellis Anderson and Louise Cannon Anderson Cox. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Holly Anderson; grandparents who helped raised him, Henry and Jessie Mae Cannon and a granddaughter, Sway Anderson. Paul served with the Johnson County Rescue Squad for 44 years and 25 of those years, he served as Director. He also served as Vice President of TARS. Paul was a former School Board member, representing the Butler and Doe Districts. He drove a truck for many years and like many people from his generation, Paul was also a proud farmer. He was a member of Little Doe Baptist Church. Paul is survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Ruby Anderson; his loving children: daughter, Candace Anderson Williams and friend Donald Stanley and son and daughter-in-law, Freddy and Jo Ann Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Karen Anderson; half- sister, Regina Barker; grandchildren: Dillon Anderson, Timothy McClellan, Ashlee Williams, Kaylee Williams, Jessie Mae Williams, Jacob Anderson and Luke Anderson; special friends: Ray Stout, Larry Grindstaff, Danny Herman and Barry Pleasant; his many EMS friends across the State and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Paul's son, Freddy, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Terry Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Timothy McClellan, Donald Stanley, Dillon Anderson, Ray Stout and Larry Grindstaff and Rick Ward. Honorary pallbearers: All employees, past and present, of the Johnson County Rescue Squad, Christal Stout, David Cannon, Danny Herman, Members of the Carter County Rescue Squad and the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squad. Family, Pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble by 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. For those who wish, memorials in Paul's memory may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Candace, 583 Locust Gap Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.
