Ronnie Hicks

Ronnie Benjamin Hicks, age 53, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 15, 1962 to the late Benjamin Franklin Hicks and Rosalee Campbell Hicks. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by a son, Tyler Benjamin Hicks and sister, Mildred Lunceford and nephew, Tracey Hicks. Nothing meant more to Ronnie than family, especially his children, whom he loved with all his heart. He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite drive was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ronnie loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his children. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Tina Denney Hicks; daughter, Autumn Hicks; sons: Cody Lee Hicks, Dalton Benjamin Hicks, Tracey Lee Hicks, Caleb Issac Walker and Evan Lee Walker; step sons: Wesley Dowell Jr. and Jerry Dowell; sisters: Lurlie Elaine Adams, Wendy Stange and Martha Olson; brothers: Clyde Hicks and Gary Hicks; several nieces and nephews; many special friends and his special dog, Zeuss. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Steven Spencer and Shannon Courtner officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Hicks, Joe Courtner, Steve Lunceford, Joe Lunceford, Brian Campbell, and Paul Gentry Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Hicks, Joe Hicks, Jeff Hicks, S.K. Davis, Allen Story, Jeff Denney and Staff of Mountain City Care Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 418 N. State of Franklin Road, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604 .
