Magdalena "Maggie" Santana, age 73, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, and formerly of Miami, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on September 30, 1941 in Matanzas, Cuba to the late Jose Menendez and Magdalena Haza Grasso. In addition to her parents, Magdalena was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Eugenia Menendez Haza. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Magdalena had also lived in Shady Valley, Tennessee for 10 years. Magdalena was a very caring and loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved to surprise her family and friends with gifts and shower them with prayers. Magdalena is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Damaris S. Venturella and husband Reed; grandchildren: David Venturella and Silas Venturella; niece and nephews: Jose Nicolas Pea Menendez, Maria Eugenia Pea Menendez and Pedro Manuel Acevedo; special great niece, Ibis Marie Acevedo and many special friends. Graveside Service and Interment for Magdalena will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens with Pastor Gil Pea officiating.
