Richard P Poe

Richard P. Poe, age 69, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on July 9, 2015. He was born on August 9, 1945 to the late Harry and Katherine Dotson Poe. He was a retired Navy Veteran. Richard loved living in the peace and quiet of the mountains. He was an avid reader and often wrote articles for various papers on food quality management. Richard was also a sports car enthusiast. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Diane Malcho Poe, who he married in Hawaii in 1966; sisters: Marcia Rebecca Prescott of Winston Salem, NC, Abigail Walls and husband Larry of Walkertown, NC, and Marjorie Perkins and husband Craig of Winston Salem, NC; sister-in-law, Joanne Ashley and husband James of Jenison, MI; several nieces and nephews and his special Yorkie, Bailey. It was Richard's wishes to be cremated and that no formal service be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richard's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607..
