Margarette Cunningham Vaught Margarette Cunningham Vaught, age 87, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born in West Virginia, on January 22, 1928 to the late David H. Cunningham, Sr. and Myrtle Irene Cunningham. In addition to her parents Margarette was preceded in death by her sons, Kimberly S. Vaught and Robert D. Vaught; sisters, Joann Cunningham, Eileen Hicks, Louise King and Juanita Gentry; brothers, David H. Cunningham, Jr., John Ralph Cunningham and Donald L. Cunningham; sister-in-law, Margaret Maze Cunningham. Margarette was a graduate of Johnson County High School and enjoyed her High School reunions. She was retired from Citizens National Bank. Margarette had a love for reading and listening to her electronic books, loved being with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. She attended Roan Creek Baptist Church. Margarette is survived by her daughter Cathy L. Abbott and husband Mark Lenker of Glen Burnie, MD; grandchildren; Shawn D. Abbott of Glen Burnie, MD and Jaime L. Abbott of Baltimore, MD; sister Nancy Morris and husband Nolan; brothers Harry R. Cunningham and wife Sue, Danny Cunningham and wife Karen; sisters-in-law Betty Cunningham of Mountain City, TN and Annette Cunningham of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28 2015 at Mountain City Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Hankal officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla St. Mountain City, TN 37683. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home 710 W.
