Lawrence Dale Pierce, age 72, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was born on June 9, 1943 to the late Dale and Ruth Lewis Pierce. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Gene' Pierce. Lawrence drove a truck for many years and really enjoyed his job. He also enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. He was a member of God's Country Church. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Brewer Pierce; sisters: Thelma Cook and husband Eugene; Martha Hayworth, Viva Sheffield, Annie Lee Lowe, all of Mountain City, TN and Virgie Marley of Wilkesboro, NC; brother, Kyle Pierce and wife Patsy; sister-in-law, Kathy Pierce; brothers-in-law, Tommy Brewer and Donald Brewer and wife Nancy; special caregiver, Glenda Reynolds; many more special nieces, nephews and special friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Jones officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Family Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Griffith, Robert Chappell and Dennis Mason. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family, 1705 Little Dry Run Road, Butler, TN 37640 At other times the family will receive friends at the home, 1705 Little Dry Run Road, Butler, TN 37640.
