William Arthur 'Buck' Potter, age 67, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and formerly of Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 31, 2015 at his home. He was born on December 10, 1947 to Mary Kate Wagner Potter of Butler, Tennessee and the late Linell C. Potter. In addition to his father, Buck was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, A.B. and Eula Wagner and paternal grandparents, Logan and Ethel Potter. Buck was a 1965 graduate of JCHS and a graduate of University of Tennessee. He was Retired Navy Officer with 25 years of service. Buck also retired from Hanes Brands of Winston Salem, NC. Buck was a licensed CPA and a member of MENSA. He was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church of Butler, TN. In addition to his mother, Mary Kate Potter, Buck is survived by his sister, Ann Potter of Butler, TN and several cousins. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Greene and Pastor Don Winters officiating. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow from the Sugar Grove Cemetery with Pastor Doug Ranshaw to officiate. Pallbearers will be Bob Tester, John Dugger, Mack Holloway, Mel Wager, Gary Wagner, Jim Greenwell and Larry Tester. Honorary pallbearers are all of Buck's close family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 925 Sugar Grove Church Road, Butler, TN 37640.
