Betty "Charlie" R. South Carr-Iverson, age 78, of Lenoir, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born October 2, 1936, in Trade, Tennessee to the late Hobert and Lillie Brown South. Mrs. Iverson worked at Thomasville Furniture and attended Hartland Missionary Methodist Church. Survivors include husband Randall T. Iverson of the home; one son, Pastor Danny Carr and wife Hazel of Morganton, NC; three daughters, Pamela Carr Ellis and husband Rev. James Ellis of Lexington, NC, Cheryl Carr Pack of Sanford, NC and Karen Carr Miller of Lenoir, NC; brothers, Jack South of Bean Station, TN and Bill South of Zionville, NC, one sister, Marie South Reece and husband Harvey of Trade, TN; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Danny Carr and Rev. James L. Ellis. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. at Zionville Baptist Church in Zionville, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Ellis, Brian Miller, Tony Miller, Jay Miller, Greg Scragg and Darrell Conley.
