Lewis Weldon McComas

Lewis Weldon McComas, age 78, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at his home. He was born on March 8, 1937, in Carroll County, MD to the late Lewis Weldon McComas Sr. and Iras Elizabeth Jackson McComas. In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by a brother, John Jack' Wesley McComas. Lewis has been described by many as a real people person' who never knew a stranger. He loved being outdoors working on his farm and enjoyed playing golf. He was a United States Navy Veteran. Lewis is survived by his high school sweetheart, Peggy Louise Barksdale McComas, who was also Lewis' devoted caregiver; daughters: Susan Haines and husband Ronald of PA, Laurie McComas and husband William Clark of FL; son, Scott Wesley McComas of Iowa; eight grandchildren: Brandon, Kyle, Nikki, Bobbie Sue, Sarah, Becky, Tim and Megan; great grandchildren: Michaela, Leah and Levi; brother, Bruce Wayne McComas and wife Barbara of MD. It was Lewis's request to be cremated and that no formal services be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made Amedysis Hospice, 1500 W. Elk Avenue, Suite 202, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
