Harry Cunningham

Harry R. Cunningham, age 80, of Mountain City, Tennessee and formerly of Northern Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Mountain City Care and Rehabilitation Center with his family at his side. Harry was born on August 8, 1935 to the late David and Myrtle Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Harry served in the United States Air Force for nine years, worked in the restaurant business for 30+ years and has served as a Pastor for the past 20 years. Harry was a member of Roan Creek Baptist Church of Mountain City, TN. He is survived by his wife, Sue Heck Cunningham of Mountain City, TN; daughters and son-in-laws: Vickie and Steve Green of Kingsport, TN, Sheila and Tim Wakefield of Burlington, ME and Cheryl and Daren Nester of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren: Rebekah and husband Joshua Nelson, Tyler and wife Nikki Wakefield, and Abigail Nester; great grandson, Nathanael Nelson; sister, Nancy Morris and husband Nolan; brother, Danny Cunningham and wife Karen; sister-in-laws, Lois Snyder, Betty Cunningham and Annette Cunningham; brother-in-law, Bob Heck and wife Melinda, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Roan Creek Baptist Church followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor David Hankal officiating. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow at the Phillippi Cemetery.
