Lois Roark Presnell

Lois Roark Presnell, age 73, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on March 25, 1942 to the late Noel and Bessie Osborne Roark. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her first husband Boyd Roark and her second husband Samuel Presnell; sister, Gladys Hanna and brothers: Coy Roark and William Roark. Lois was a good Christian woman who loved her Lord and Savior. She attended Laurel Springs Community Church and enjoyed singing in church. Lois loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them. She liked to travel and enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Lois loved music and played the accordion, piano and guitar. Lois is survived by her children: Darlene Osborne and husband Sonny, Jerry Roark and wife Sheila and Billy Roark; sister, Pauline Pennington; brothers: J.R. Roark, Gene Roark, Spencer Roark and Thomas Huddie' Roark; grandchildren: Mandy Lewis and husband Mitchell, Brad Osborne and wife Tara, Justin Roark and fiancé Miranda, Aaron Roark and wife Ericka, Rebecca Bishop and husband Justin, Bo Roark and wife Heather, Autumn Roark, Kim Epperly and husband Brett and Sarah Phillips and husband Gary; ten great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastors Spencer Roark, Greg Thompson and Roy Dowell officiating. Special music will be provided by Nieces and Miss Sandy Roberts. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Roark Family Cemetery, Rock Creek Community of Creston, NC. Pallbearers will be Justin Roark, Aaron Roark, Bo Roark, Brad Osborne, Justin Bishop and Mitchell Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Paul Kramer, Dr. Diaz, Staff of Wellmont Cancer Center, Staff of Mountain City Care Center, Dr. Donna McDonald and Members of Doe Valley Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lois' memory may be made to the Johnson County Cancer Support Group, c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Hwy 421 N., Mountain City, TN 37683. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Darlene Osborne, 386 Potter Lane, Mountain City, TN 37683.
