Mr. Ray Henson Mr. Ray Henson, age 79, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 28, 1936 to the late William McKinley "Ken" Henson and Hattie Gail Johnson Henson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters; Liz Richardson, Patty Morefield, Shirley Fredell, Gladys Absher, Hazel Gentry, and Mae Neal and by brothers; R.D. Henson and Joe Henson, son-in-law Michael Stout, granddaughter, Molly Henson Blackwell and her husband Nick, and his great-granddaughter Harper Blackwell. He was a big sports fan with his favorites being the Atlanta Braves and his big orange UT sports. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt. Ray loved his family and his church family and will be truly missed by all. He loved reading his Bible and was member of First Christian Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Jean Davis Henson, daughter, Lisa Stout, sons; Donnie Henson and wife Judy, Ronnie Henson and wife Chelley and Bo Henson and wife Terri all of Mountain City, TN, Grandchildren; Jessica Harkness and husband Kevin of Gray, TN, Becky Smith and husband Mike, Samantha Johnson and husband Brad, Stephanie Henson, Jacob Henson, Lucas Henson, Kourtney Tolley, Will Henson, Trevor Henson and Kaci Tolley, Great Grandchildren; Ethan Stout, Kynlee Smith, Camden Johnson and Nadia Harkness, brothers; Kemp Henson and wife Hilda, Otis Henson and wife Wileyette, and several very special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 5, 2015 from the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Dwayne Dickson and Ken Caswell officiating. Music will be by Nancy Davis. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 pm prior to the funeral service. The graveside service will follow from the Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Henson, Lucas Henson, Will Henson, Trevor Henson, Brad Johnson, Mike Smith, Kevin Harkness, Ethan Stout, and Camden Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Nephews, Dr. Jim Shine, Wayne Davis, Earl Davis, and Jim Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Food Pantry, 401 W. Main St., Mountain City, TN 37683. The family would like to express a special thanks to Avalon Hospice for all the Care they gave and to the staff of Mountain City Care Center.
