Estel Ray Hall, age 75, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on October 8, 1939 to the late Mack McKinley Hall and Emma Mae Hammons Hall. In addition to his parents, Estel was preceded in death by sisters: Susan Hall, India Hall, Phyllis Woods, Ella Mae Church, Wauntia Jennings, Lenetha Bumgardner and Wanda Martin, and brothers: Charles Hall, Ervil Hall and Harley Hall. Estel loved being outdoors. Some of his favorite hobbies were bee keeping, fishing and raising chickens and birds, especially quail, and pheasants. He also enjoyed working in his garden. Estel loved his family very much and especially loved his grandchildren, whom he took great pleasure in spoiling. He had many special friends and enjoyed spending time with them along with his family. He was a United States Army Veteran. Estel was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Chris Pierce; sister, Ruby Price; brother, Boyd Hall; grandchildren: Christian Pierce, Connor Pierce and Caleb Pierce; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Hammons Cemetery with Bill Worley and Kenny Ray Vaught officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerold Price, Rick Price, Sonny Gambill, Jesse Pena, Bob Heck and Mike Cupeto. Honorary pallbearers are: Carl Williams, Howard Williams, Colon Burns, Garland Miller, Jimmy Miller, Keith Wilson, Barton Hall, Jack Hall, Hooty Dugger, Tom Neeves, Rob Wagner, Danny Ray Wilson and Darwin Main. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Estel's memory may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church, 117 Antioch Road, Mountain City, TN 37683 or the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
