Beverly Kay Shearin

Beverly Kay Shearin, age 76, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. She was born on September 6, 1939 in Victoria, VA to the late Maury Thomas Driggs Sr. and Gussie Mae Cox Driggs. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Maury T. Driggs Jr. Beverly was a faithful housewife. She had a special interest in all types of flowers, and enjoyed watching the many birds and animals that gathered outside her home. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great children, with all her heart. Beverly was a member of Vaughan Baptist Church in Vaughan, NC. Survivors include her loving husband, Claude G. Shearin Sr.; sons: Claude G. Shearin Jr. and wife Mary, Willis W.T.' Shearin and wife Wendy; daughters: Tina Denney and husband Lonnie, Teresa Davis and husband Mack and Susan Shearin; grandchildren: Dustin Shearin and wife Jessica, Amanda Greer and husband Jeff, Melissa Peterson and husband Jody, Benjamin Denney and wife Cortney and Mitchell Osborne; great grandchildren: Aaron and Noah Shearin, Olivia Denney, Jaxon Peterson and Gabriel Osborne and a host of special friends and neighbors. Graveside Service and Interment for Beverly will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Phillippi Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 1:45 p.m. at the cemetery for services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
