Shelby Jean Jackson Blevins

Shelby Jean Jackson Blevins, age 77, of Damascus, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Iaeger, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Margaret Stafford Jackson. In addition to her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by a son, Ira 'Mickey' Blevins Jr.; sisters: Ernestine Waloven and Brenda Loveall and one brother, Ott Emerson Jackson. Shelby had several hobbies that she enjoyed but a few of her favorites were genealogy, painting and crafting. Shelby is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ira M. Blevins Sr. of Konnarock, VA; daughters: Elizabeth Waddell and husband James of Konnarock, VA and Kimberly Gorsline and husband Steve of Laurel Bloomery, TN; brother, Rodger Jackson and wife Joyce of Woodbridge, VA; sisters: Mollie Flint of Rhoadesville, VA, Linda Lonsinger and husband Mike of Salisbury, NC; Georgetta Roland of Charlotte, NC and Marcia Jones and husband Dennis of Willow Springs, NC; grandchildren: Kenneth, Nicole, Christopher, Shae, Matthew and Michael; step grandchildren: Steven and Kaitlyn; great grandchild, Carsen; step great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Michael; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Shelby will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Barr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shelby's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 230 Charwood Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 28925 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Damascus, VA 24236.
