Nellie Brown Proffitt

Nellie Elizabeth Brown Proffitt, age 77, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Watauga Medical Center. She was born on December 30, 1937 in Johnson County to the late Dewey E. Brown and Martha Moore Brown. Nellie was preceded in death by her sister Coretta Proffitt, brothers, Tommy George Brown, Lonnie O. Brown and Jack Brown. She was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church. Nellie is survived by her brothers; Coleman Brown, D.L. Brown, Rocky Brown, all of Mountain City, TN and Ed Brown of Kingsport, TN; and five nieces and three nephews. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from the Martha Brown Cemetery ( Vaughts Gap Rd. ) with Pastor Chuck Morefield and Rev. Benny Green to officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John Whitlock and Daniel Jones and their Medical Staff and the staff of Mountain City Care Center.
