Clara Faye Walker, age 76, of Gastonia, North Carolina and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Belaire Health Care Center. She was born on July 10, 1939 to the late William Earl Denney and Floy Elena South Denney. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Dean Walker; sisters: Ella May Favorite, Lucille Powell, Pauline Eastridge and Donnie Monger and brothers: Earl Denney Jr. and Edsel Denney. Faye loved raising and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Faye is survived by her daughter, Ladeana Gambill and husband Wayne of Gastonia, NC; sister, Sue Campbell and husband Kenneth of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Lauren, Sydney, Evan and Mason; special cousin and friend, Buddy Dowell; special friends: Margaret Robinson, Novella Reece, David and Sammy Wilson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Spencer officiating. Special music will be provided by Shirley Potter and Kenneth South. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Walker Family Cemetery with eulogy given by Wayne Gambill. Pallbearers are Nick Whitener, David Wilson, Tony Childers, Lewis McCrain, Tyler Gambill, Clay Fletcher and Frank Pesek. Honorary pallbearers are Evan Glenn and Mason Gambill. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday.
