Roselyn D. Walter, age 98, of Mountain City, Tennessee, and formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on September 6, 1917 to the late William C. Dilsburg and Corneila Addison Dilsburg. In addition to her parents, Roselyn was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, William J. Walter and a brother, William C. Dilsburg Jr., who was killed during World War II. Roselyn was born in Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Norfolk, Virginia when she was a child. Roselyn and her husband William lived in Norfolk, Virginia until their health declined. After William passed away, Roselyn moved to Tennessee, to live with their son and daughter-in-law. When she was in good health, Roselyn loved to raise her own vegetable garden. She also loved scrap booking and still had many of the scrapbooks that she had made through the years. One of her favorite singers throughout the years was Tom Jones, who she still enjoyed listening and watching on TV. She also enjoyed watching shows with Tom Selleck. Roselyn was a lifelong member of Glenwood Park Presbyterian Church of Norfolk, Virginia. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Paula Walter of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Julie Chapa and husband Fernando, David Walter and wife Laura, Brian Walter and Michael Walter; great grandchildren: Olivia Chapa and Xavier Chapa. Funeral Service for Roselyn will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday November 11, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Dickson officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2 015 from the Forest Lawn Cemetery of Norfolk, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.
