Paul Barr, age 72, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on April 4, 1943 in Taylors Valley, Virginia to the late Fred Millard Barr and Verna Richardson Barr. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Barr Wallace and a brother, Earl Barr. Paul worked for 42 years for Maymead driving a dump truck. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved deer hunting. Paul was a true family man and loved spending time with them, especially his grandson, who he loved to spoil. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Geraldean Simcox Barr; one daughter and son-in-law, Joana and Roger Morrison; one grandson, Hunter Morrison; sister, Ruby Jean Mabe; nieces: Penny King, Sheila Thomas, Kelly Cornett; nephews: Aaron Simcox and Tony Wallace and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jim Norman officiating. Pallbearers will be James Richardson, Eddie Widener, Clarence Greer, Roger Morrison, Mark Richardson and Joe Widener. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Morrison and Christopher Norman.
