Blaine F. Pennington

                                                                         Blaine Francis Pennington     Blaine Francis Pennington, age 85 , of Lenoir, NC, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care in Hudson, NC. He was born in Johnson County, TN on August 23, 1930 to Rufus M. Pennington and Lula Greer Pennington. In addition to his parents Blaine was preceded in death by three sisters, Blanche Campbell, Lucille Gorsline and Mary Rose Morefield, granddaughter, Amber Fisher.   Blaine was a Staff Sgt. in the United States Army having served in Korea. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially fishing with his grandsons. He also enjoyed woodworking making his different crafts. Blaine had worked in the Furniture industry for many years.   Blaine was a member of Stateline Baptist Church.   He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary A. Bishop Pennington , daughters; Teresa Slone, Sheila Morefield sons, Phillip ‘Randy’ Pennington, Blaine Pennington, Jr. and Martin Pennington ,grandchildren; Chris Summerow, Tony Summerow, Nicole Mosley, Julie Chestnut, Brandon Pennington, Tyler Pennington, Jessica Pennington and Rejeana Slone, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Dave Pennington and wife Betty, several nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor’s Sam Craven and Michael Icenhour to officiate. Graveside service and interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday December 27, 2015 from the Stateline Cemetery, with Military Honors to be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Tony Summerow, Chris Summerow, Brandon Pennington, Tyler Pennington, Tyler Yarber and Gregory Bishop.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice 526 Pine Mountain Rd., Hudson, NC 28638.   Friends may call at the home of his daughter Sheila Morefield 2955 Sugar Creek Rd., Laurel Bloomery, TN  37680.   Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
