Evelyn Taylor, age 81, of Shady Valley, TN, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born June 23, 1934 to the late Clyde Loggins and Dollie Mae Thompson Loggins and was a lifelong resident of Shady Valley, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Taylor, a daughter, Rose Mary Taylor, and a brother E.J. Loggins. Evelyn was a dedicated member of Shady Valley Presbyterian Church where she served as Church Treasurer for many years. Evelyn was a quiet person who cherished her many friends. The characteristics that most defined her life was her willingness to help others and her love for her family. Until her declining health prevented her from doing so, any special family event was celebrated with a tasty pot of chicken and dumplings. Her greatest love was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She thought of them constantly and enjoyed spending time with them. She also had a special place in her heart for her little dog, Reece, who refused to leave her side during the past few weeks of her illness. Those left behind to cherish her memory include a son, Norman Taylor and wife Jeannie, granddaughters, Angela Rininger and husband Don, Heather Robinson and husband Lynn, and Kailee Taylor, great-grandsons, Taylor Robinson, Ethan Robinson, and Colton Rininger, a sister, Chorine Swiney and husband Sam, a brother, Jerrell Loggins and Brenda, two nephews, Jerrrell S. Loggins II and wife Roxanne and their sons Blake and Grant, and Tony Lewis, She is also survived by her loving little dog Reece, and many special friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Stevens and Dr. Tedford Taylor officiating. The interment service and burial will follow from Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be Jess Wagner, Richard Righter, John Cole, John Shumate, Rick Campbell, Don Rininger, Lynn Robinson, and Will Righter. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Tedford Taylor, Blake Taylor, Charles Barnett, and members of Shady Valley Presbyterian Church. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of her son, Norman, 2035 Hwy. 91, Shady Valley, TN. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Shady Valley Fire Department First Responders and the Johnson County Rescue Squad.
