John C. Woodard

John C. Woodard, age 74, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1941 to the late Noah Samuel Woodard and Hattie Arnold Woodard. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Wisner Woodard, his second wife, Twila Woodard and his third wife, Kim Woodard; sisters: Opal Graybeal and Ruby Potter and brother, Ulyssis Woodard.   John enjoyed working and looked forward to going to work every day, where he worked in telecommunications. He enjoyed many years of employment with various telecommunications companies and was proud of his accomplishments such as building the first 911 for Baltimore City. He also tested first class features for many phone companies. John loved being outdoors and especially loved gardening. He loved his family and friends and loved spending time with them, especially his granddaughter, Lauren and his step daughters, Melissa and Christel, who lovingly took care of John until his passing.   John was a United States Air Force Veteran.   He is survived by sister, Pearl Osborne; step-daughters: Melissa Fahnle and husband Jason and Christel Zajbel and husband Jim; special step granddaughter, Lauren; step grandchildren: Zach and Leslie, Eric and Laura; half sister, Virginia; half brother, Raymond and several special nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.   The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Campbell to officiate. The Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason Fahnle, Jim Zajbel, William J. Graybeal, Brad Dunn, Ronnie Dunn and Chris Watson.   Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.   The family of John C.
