Richard Moorhouse

Richard Moorhouse, age 76, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1939 to the late Mervin and Eunice Waddell Moorhouse. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Duncan and brothers: Bill Moorhouse and Don Moorhouse.   Richard retired from Ministry following 30 years of service, most recently from Frist Christian Church of Mountain City, where he was an active member. He was very involved in community service and was always willing to lend a hand wherever he was needed. He was his family’s biggest supporter and cheerleader and was always there for them with encouraging words.   Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia Steele Moorhouse; sons and daughters-in-law: Jeff and Carol Grace Moorhouse and Craig and Amanda Moorhouse; brother, Bob Moorhouse; grandchildren: Grace Ann, Hannah Beth, Clayton and Audrey; many special friends, neighbors and his church family.   A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at the First Christian Church with Minister Ken Caswell officiating.  he family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the First Christian Church Benevolence Fund, 401 W.
