Gladys Pearson Hall, age 91, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was born on October 20, 1924 in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Dan and Doxie Watson.  In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Lee Pearson; her second husband, James Hall and two sisters:  Ruby Pearson and Marie Watson.   Gladys was a devoted Christian wife, mom and grandmother. She lived each day according to God’s word and was a wonderful influence to her family and friends.  She was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.   Gladys enjoyed quilting and raising vegetable and flower gardens.   Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Marcella Moody and husband Kenneth, Martha Stewart and Marilyn Welch and husband David; grandchildren: Dewayne Hicks and wife Gail, Megan Hicks and Chris Welch and wife Kayla; eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; half brother, Harold Watson, special care-giver, Nora Chapman; four stepdaughters, two stepsons.   The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Winters officiating. Special music will be provided by the Sugar Grove Church Choir. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Welch, Kenneth Moody, Dwayne Hicks, Chris Welch, Jim Greenwell and Billy Pearson.   The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers to send memorial contributions in Gladys’ memory to one of the following: Sugar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund or Cemetery Care Fund, 925 Sugar Grove Church Road, Butler, TN 37640 or Amedysis Hospice, 1500 W Elk Avenue, Suite 202, Elizabethton, TN 37643   Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com The family of Gladys Pearson Hall has entrusted her services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
