Raymond Lee Henley, age 91, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence. He was born on September 20, 1924 in Decatur, Tennessee to the late John R. and Nellie Miller Henley. Raymond was a United States Army Veteran and honorably served during WWII. His unit was involved in the invasion of Normady. Following his military career, Raymond worked for the TVA for 15 years and Burlington Industries for 18 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Myrtle Henley; sons: R.L. Henley and wife Sharon of Lansing, KS and Alfred Henley and wife Amy of Mountain City, TN; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rische and husband Mike of Maryville, TN; seven grandchildren: Crystal Laudermilk and husband Jeff, Rochelle Campbell, Curtis Crosswhite and wife Amanda, Christopher Crosswhite and wife Misty, Leon Henley & wife Wendy, Brian Henley and Adriane Furches and several great grandchildren. It was Raymond’s wishes that no formal services be held. He will be laid to rest at the Mountain Home National VA Cemetery.
