Roy Wallace

Roy Edmond Wallace, age 81, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on April 18, 1934 to the late Roosevelt and Beatrice Roberts Wallace. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by one sister and two grandchildren.   Like most men of his generation, Roy was a proud farmer. He was avid outdoorsmen who loved to fish, hunt and play softball and was also a good mechanic. He enjoyed Bible study and listening to gospel music and listening to ‘swap shop’. Roy loved his family and greatly enjoyed family get-togethers.   He was a member of Shady Valley Church of Christ.   Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Wallace; daughters: Kathy Church and husband Marion, Patsy Main, Tammy Alexander, Marlene Wade and husband Don, Christine Wright and fiancé Glenn Church, Hope Jenkins, Leslie Hall, Susan Wallace and fiancé Larry Phipps, Amy Silcox and husband Phil; sons: Larry Wallace and fiancé Cindy Hyder, Randy Wallace, Charles Wallace and wife Brenda, Tracy Wallace and Joey Wallace and wife Tammy; brother, Howard Wallace; 38 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several cousins, nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Shady Valley Church of Christ with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister Daniel Koen and Minister Jim Sherman to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Billy Hill Cemetery, Shady Valley, TN. Pallbearers will be David Sluder, Patrick Wallace, Jonathan Alexander, Billy Wallace, Bradley Wright, Aaron Sluder, Andrew Baumgardner, Tyler Hall, Anthony Baumgardner and Christopher Wallace.
