Peggy Sue Bennett

Peggy Sue Bennett, age 78, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on September 24, 1937 to the late Millard Franklin and Ima Mae Holman Pilkenton. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by a daughter, Lesa Marie Adkins; one sister and three brothers.   Peggy was an avid gardener and loved to cook. She also enjoyed searching for and collecting antiques.   Peggy was a wonderful wife and mother and will be greatly missed.   She is survived by her husband James Richard ‘Jim’ Bennett; daughters: Marsha Elaine Adkins and husband Mike Day of Lenoir, NC and Terri Lynn Singleton and husband Nathan of Harmony, NC; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; ten nieces and two nephews.   The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Campbell to officiate.
