Kenneth ‘Shorty’ Myers, age 75, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born on August 12, 1940 to the late James and Ann Fly Myers. In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Drury. Shorty was a real character, one of those people that when you first met him, you felt like you have known him all of your life. He was a fun loving family man, a wonderful grandfather who loved his grandchildren greatly. Shorty loved to go on long drives with his family. He was a truck driver and had drove for various companies throughout the years, including Danny Herman trucking, where he drove for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Emma Sue Myers; daughter, Sue Dickens; son, Preston Case and Alan Case; four grandchildren; special granddaughter, Tiffany Dishman; special great grandchildren, Genesis and Kaleb Dishman; several more great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Preston Case, Gary Lady and James Bonham. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, #102, Johnson City, TN 37601.
