Betty Sue Roop

Betty Sue Roop   Betty Sue Roop, age 76, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born in Johnson County, TN on August 8, 1939 to the late Millard and Beulah Forrester Owens. In addition to her parents Betty is preceded in death by a son Kevin Swift and her husband Fred Winton Roop on April 2, 2015.   Betty was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.   She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Roop of Mountain City, sons; David Swift and Bobby Swift of Damascus, VA; brother, Paul Owens and wife Frieda of Mountain City; grandchildren, Kristy Johnson and husband Jerry, David Swift, Faith Swift, Heather Swift, Kayla Swift, Ashley Taylor, Bret Owens, Michael Roop, Ronnie Slagle, Adam Deyton and Payton Garr; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Tammy Thomas.     The family will receive friends from 11:00 -12:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 from Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon with Steven Spencer to officiate.
